Arm workout

Do you ever try to carry several bags of groceries in order to get all of them in the house in one trip? I definitely do... well, at least I try to anyways. I do not want to make anymore extra trips then I have to, especially, not during this time of year. 

 It's time to work those arms. One of my favorite arm workouts is the link to the video I have attached at the bottom of this post. The video focuses on all the muscles in the arm. It is a quick and easy work out. It only takes about 10 minutes of your day, but it definitely builds up a sweat. The work out requires weights (whatever size you prefer and feel comfortable with). Feel free to increase your weights as you continue to do the workout as the workout will become easier over time. I usually use 3-5 lbs weights when I do this workout rather then heavier weights. If the video and/or the workout plan I am doing tells me to increase the weights like this video, I increase them (usually by doubling the weight used previously). The reason I like to use lighter weights is because I am working on toning my arms versus becoming bulk. 

If you don't have weights for this workout, no worries. Use your resources can foods, books, and water bottles work just as well. Get creative with it :) So, lets get those strong arms in order to be able to carry these bags in one.

Stretch

Often times, we feel the need that we do not need to stretch before we exercise. We feel it is not needed, and it takes away more of our time in the day. Yes, I was guilty for these reasons. Until I learned the importance of stretching, I barely ever stretched. Now that I have a better understanding of the reasons to stretch, I have made it part of my workout routine.

Stretching is needed. It may take a few extra minutes of our time, but it is just as important as the workout itself. There are many benefits to stretching. Here are just a few reasons to stretch: warms up and loosens our muscles, improves flexibility, improves posture, reduces muscle aches/soreness, and decreases the risk of injury. Need I say more?

It is the time for you to make time to help your body do all it can. Start including stretching in your workout regime. Your body will appreciate it.

Leg workout

You ready to see a difference in your legs? Well I am glad to hear you are because it is leg day! You may be thinking oh no what am I getting myself into but believe me it will feel great. Your legs will be screaming and saying no more. I mean come on what's better than pain? haha As crazy as it may sound, the pain is a good. You probably have heard pain equals gain. The pain (soreness) that you will feel during, after, and possibly for the next day or two is the muscles used from the workout. This pain that you may feel here shortly is probably because these muscles have not been used. No worries. We will be continuing to work on this group of muscles along with other muscles in order to build a tolerance.  Of course, it also will strengthen and tone your muscles like you have been wanting.

The exercises I will be posting may come from an assortment of websites, and others may just be random exercises that I put together. 

Leg Workout:

20 sumo squats
15 lunges (each leg)
30 second wall sit
40 calf raises

You survived the first circuit. Congratulations! If you wanna challenge yourself, do 1 to 2 more circuits. Each day continue to push more. Keep going forward; do not look back.

Friday vibes

Good morning!

Guess what day it is? It is a beautiful day. Take a moment to look in a mirror to see what true beauty is. It's you. It is easy to take inner and outer beauty for granted, but we are going to learn through our journey we need to take the time to see all the good. Today is a start to the new beginning.

Can I tell you the start to my morning?
I woke up. I sent my good morning texts to the special individuals that I am grateful for each and every day.
Then, I went into my bathroom and seen myself in the mirror. Wow.. talk about bed head haha. However, I did not let my imperfection get to me. It reminded me that imperfection is beauty. We are not all the same as that would be boring. We are all different structures. It is just about you being comfortable with your body.
Next, it was off to make breakfast. Favorite meal of the day for this girl:) Hashbrowns  and egg whites.
Finally, finished my morning with a workout on the television and running on the treadmill.

There is no rhyme or reason to my routine. Every day is a different day. It will not always be the same routine. One day I may not be able to do my workout the morning, so I may have to place it in my schedule later in the day.  This is part of life. It is about enjoying all the things in life, but also you making time for your self.  Take time for you. Love who you are.

Lets begin

Hello everyone!

What if you had access to tips and exercises to become more fit? How would your health change? Being healthy is not always about losing weight or trying to be skinny. It is about feeling comfortable with your body.

My name is Ashley, and I am here to help you feel good about your body. In my blogs, I will be sharing tips and exercises to help you get your health on track.  Yes, we will all struggle or have an off day. That is natural and okay. I am here to support you during those times as well as throughout this journey together. I will be sharing an assortment of exercises that will be focusing on all different parts of our body. But, I am done informing you about whats to come in our journey. Now, it is up to you. Are you ready? I know you all can do it. It just all starts with you. You are your biggest supporter, and your biggest competitor. You are the change. You need to be the one to tell your self you can do this. Let me hear you, "I can do this. I will do this" That's right! Now, together we will be healthy. 3..2..1 shake, dance, move!
